2 min read 2 Comments

Top 5 states with high rates of arthritis. They include West Virginia, Kentucky, Alabama, Michigan, and Mississippi.

While it's concerning that more than 1 in 5 Americans (22.7%) will suffer with arthritis at some point in their lives, new statistics from the May 20th 2016 US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report shine an especially eerie picture for specific locations throughout the United States of America.  In fact, some regions of the country posted arthritis prevalence rates as high as 38.6%! Individual states that showing high rates of suffering from arthritic conditions include:  West Virginia (35.5%), Kentucky (31.4%), Alabama (31.1%), Michigan (28.7%), and Mississippi (27.1%).

This research is based upon the interviews of individuals 464,664 from the 50 states, DC, Puerto Rico, and Guam. Respondents were asked to answer the question, “Have you ever been told by a doctor or other health professional that you have some form of arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, lupus, or fibromyalgia?” Based on the results, the current overall arthritis prevalence rate for US adults is 22.7%. Unfortunately, this means that almost 1 in 4 individuals residing within the United States will be told at some point that they are suffering from an arthritic condition.

Sorry to hear about your health concerns Gretchen. To our knowledge, there have been no studies finding Organic Sulfur interaction with other medications. However, we always encourage people with questions like yours to talk with their primary care provider or pharmacist.
