A recent study, The Effect of Methylsulfonylmethane on Osteoarthritic Large Jointsand Mobility, has linked the use of MSM Organic Sulfur Crystals with significant decreases in arthritic pain and stiffness.
Participants utilized 3 grams of MSM Organic Sulfur Crystals twice per day for a total of 6 grams per day. The study length was 26 weeks.
The study tracked how MSM Organic Sulfur supplementation affected the Western Ontario and McMaster University Osteoarthritis Index, a questionnaire commonly used by healthcare professionals to track the symptoms of arthritic conditions.
The results at 26 weeks in the MSM Organic Sulfur Crystal supplementation group were significantly better when compared to the placebo group for all subscales (pain, stiffness, physical function and total symptoms). Changes in the Placebo group were minor at the 26 week follow-up with the difference between the two groups being statistically significant in all subscales.
